What is Freediving?

Freediving, or breath-hold diving, is the sport or activity of diving without the aid of a breathing apparatus. Unlike Snorkeling, Freedivers venture far past the shallows into deeper water. This requires a mixture of relaxation and athleticism to take a person into a calm and silent world under the surface. Beginner freedivers usually reach depths of 30 - 65 ft, while advanced freedivers can dive several hundred feet on a single breath.
